How do we prevent infection?
- Get vaccinated! Anyone 6 months old and over is eligible.
- Testing and staying home when feeling sick.
- Wear a mask (recommended, not required) and wash your hands.
- Improve indoor air quality and maximize fresh air by going outdoors as much as possible.
- All SFUSD staff will need to be vaccinated unless they qualify for an exception.

What To Do
- It is recommended that students and staff who have a close contact get tested for COVID-19 three to five days after the exposure, or right away if they start to show symptoms.
- It is recommended that close contacts wear a well-fitting mask around others for a total of 10 days, especially in indoor settings.
- However, unless symptoms develop, students may continue to take part in all aspects of school including sports and extracurricular activities.
- Close contacts who were previously infected in the last 30 days do not need to test unless symptoms develop.
- Close contacts who were previously infected in the last 31–90 days should test using an antigen test, even if asymptomatic and regardless of vaccination status.
What if it's raining or the air quality is poor?
- Lunch, recess and PE are normally held outdoors, so we will implement alternate locations (MPR, Classrooms, Library)
- We will follow SFUSD guidance
