Mission & Program Goals
Our mission is to provide a safe and nurturing after-school environment that promotes awareness and appreciation of Chinese culture and customs, and learning of Mandarin Chinese. CASP is committed to building collaborative relationships within the Argonne community.
CASP’s heritage program engages students in real-world contexts to speak Chinese naturally while having fun and developing an understanding of Chinese culture and customs. We provide a supportive and enriching after-school environment where students can learn and achieve to communicate at a basic level through reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Mandarin Chinese, all while gaining awareness and appreciation of Chinese culture and customs.

Academics & Culture
We currently implement the BetterChinese curriculum, teaching Mandarin with simplified characters (Han Yu Pin Yin) throughout the week. With over 20 years of experience, our instructors teach Chinese language and culture. Our instructors and assistants foster a fun and enjoyable learning environment through interactive activities such as play, music, songs, art, and storytelling.
