What is the Giving Campaign?
While other fundraising is tied to events or seasonal sales, the Giving Campaign is the one time all year we ask for a donation. All the money raised covers 90% of the Parent Teacher Organization's (PTO) expenses.
What is the Giving Campaign fundraising goal?
We aim to raise $250,000 this year, $15,000 more than what we raised last year.
Why so much?
The majority of the money raised pays for a classroom teacher to keep class sizes lower in the upper grades, a reading specialist serving grades K-2, and a gardening teacher and outdoor education program that brings a curriculum rich in science and ecology to all students.
Where else does the money go?
Much of the rest pays for field trips and overnights, ensuring all students can participate in school-wide events like Pawpalooza and Field Day that enhance our children's sense of community and fun, and provides trainings, supplies and technology for our teachers. Importantly, the PTO also strives to meet funding needs when SFUSD-provided funding changes or falls short. Click HERE for a link to our detailed budget.
What is the suggested amount?
We're asking for a donation of $1,600 per family. You can pay a lump sum, or split it across the year. If you have more than one child at Argonne, we ask that you consider contributing an additional $600 for each additional student.
Argonne Council of Empowerment (dba as Argonne PTO) is a 501(c)(3) and a receipt will be provided.

What if I can't afford a $1,600 donation?
We understand not every family can afford a donation this size, so we ask that each family give as much as they are able. Any amount helps!
Is it helpful to give more if I can?
Yes, PLEASE! If your circumstances allow, please consider contributing more than $1,600 to ensure all students, regardless of financial situation, can benefit from what makes Argonne so great. Also, many employers will match what you give, so be sure to request a match from programs such as Benevity!
Why is my student begging me for an ice cream party?
Our goal is 100% participation, no matter how much you contribute. Whether it's $5 or $5,000, your contribution counts! All classrooms with 100% participation (forms signed and submitted) will get an ice cream party! Don't keep your student -- and their classmates -- from an ice cream party!
How do I make my donation?
Donating is super easy!
It's also not limited to just our Wolfpack families. Ask your friends, grandparents, family, co-workers and neighbors! Any amount helps and it takes a village to get us across the finish line. Just send them to this website and they'll have various payment options.
The button above will take you to a payment portal on Konstella. There you can split your donation into several monthly payments if needed. And don’t forget to take advantage of any matching gifts your company may offer! Print your donation receipt through Konstella to use for matching gift requests.
For Venmo payments, click the button above and please include in the notes: "Argonne Giving Campaign, Student Name(s), Teacher Name(s) and/or Classroom Number(s)"
For check or cash, download the Remit Form by clicking the button above, fill it out and return it along with payment to the front office or a classroom teacher.
Why should I donate NOW?
Every week we'll have a raffle for fun prizes -- like gift cards to Joe's Ice Cream or Peek-a-boo Factory. Your child will only be eligible once you return your form or donate online, so donate early!
What happens if we hit our goal?
Argonne stays awesome! But as an additional bonus, if we hit the $250,000 goal by Friday, November 22, 2024 -- the last day before Fall Recess -- Dr. Levison has agreed to dress up in costume for an all-school event! (There's a rumor that she is fond of Squirtle...)
It's Elementary: Giving Campaign + YOU = Smaller Class Sizes
(and a whole lot else!)
